Account Settings, security, and managing your subscription
Account Settings is the hub for everything about your account — not to be confused with a startup's own Settings page (that one's reached from a specific startup, for things like its name, category, and stage).
The tabs
- Personal — name, email, date of birth, and other core account details.
- Profile — your public-facing photo, bio, skills, and social links (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, GitHub) that show up on your profile and on things like Feedback Stories.
- Preferences — how you want notifications and general behavior to work.
- Security — password changes and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Interests — the topics/categories that shape your "For You" feed and recommendations.
- Startup — settings tied to your own startup, if you're a founder.
- Delete — permanently deleting your account.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Turn it on from the Security tab. Once enabled, logging in from any device sends a one-time code to your email that you'll need to enter alongside your password — an extra layer even if your password is ever compromised.
Switching between accounts
If you use more than one account on the same browser or device, you can add up to 5 and switch between them without logging out and back in each time — look for "Add account" or "Switch account" from your profile menu.
Managing your Verified subscription
The Verified badge (blue tick) is a paid subscription, managed from its own page reachable through Account Settings. From there you can see your current subscription status and file a cancel or refund request — these go to a real person to review rather than being processed instantly, so expect a short wait.
Deleting your account
Account Settings ? Delete has the option to permanently delete your account. This can't be undone, so make sure it's genuinely what you want before confirming.
Frequently asked
Is 2FA required?
No — it's optional and off by default. Turning it on is recommended but entirely your choice.
Where do I go to change my startup's category or stage?
That's on the Startup tab in Account Settings, or directly from your startup's own Settings page — not the Personal or Profile tabs, which are about you as a user, not your startup.
